BUYING A GUITAR FOR YOUR CHILD

Posted by shredder | 8:42 AM | 0 comments »

Very often parents come up to me and ask which guitar to buy for their children?? Or how to buy an acoustic or electric guitar for children?? Here's a guide to help parents looking for the perfect guitar for their children.

Before you go to a music store and look for the perfect guitar for your child it's very important that you decide if you want an acoustic or electric guitar for your child. There are many kinds of guitars both electric and acoustic available in the market, there are no limitations based on your child's age. The kind and quality of your purchase depends on your budget.A smart idea is to start on an acoustic guitar for one main reason - it's cheaper. You have no idea whether your child will use the guitar for more than a few days, the less expensive acoustic option is more logical. On the other hand, many parents choose to start with an electric guitar because it's cooler and more fun.
If you've decided on an acoustic guitar, you have one more decision to make -- there are two types of acoustic guitars: Steel-String and Nylon-String (Classical). Steel-string guitars are used in almost all popular music and are much more common, but it is normal for a child's first guitar to be a classical nylon-string guitar. The reason being nylon strings are soft and easier to press down.Size is the main concern when buying a guitar for a child under the age of ten. It is important that the guitar not be too large for your child or they will not be comfortable playing it.Another thing to think about when selecting your guitar is how much you want to spend to make sure that you receive a high-quality instrument. If you want an instrument that will last for several years, sound good, and be easy to learn on, then you should consider spending extra to get a top-quality guitar.

But if you are buying this guitar as an experiment and you're not sure your child will stick with it, then you may be better off buying an inexpensive beginner instrument. If you really want to make sure you get a top-quality instrument, we try and buy Squier , Fender. Other brands are Hohner, JB Player, Dean and Oscar Schmidt. European-made Amigo guitars are also a good deal. For those looking for the least expensive starter guitars, we carry several respected beginner brands, such as Lauren, Excel, and J. Reynolds, all of which offer beginner guitars at very affordable prices.

Acoustic Guitar Accessories (Important) : Strings, gig bag, guitar strap, picks and extra strings guitar tuner, Metronome, accessory/maintenance kit, guitar stand, instruction book or DVD

Electric Guitar Accessories (Important) : Amplifier,Cable, gig bag, guitar strap, picks and extra strings guitar tuner,Metronome, accessory/maintenance kit, guitar stand, instruction book or DVD. A headphone amp is also useful

Another smart way is to go for guitar packages and starter packs. A starter pack consists of a guitar and several extras like gig bag, a strap, picks, an extra set of strings and so on. If you're buying an electric guitar, definitely check out some starter packs because they usually include an amp and cable, without which you won't be able to play.

The sound from these phones is simply excellent. The signal is very clean, thanks in part to the oxygen free copper cabling used. Bass is controlled and doesn't sound muffled. Higher frequencies do not hiss and the phones are able to drive high frequency sounds. These headphones are a much tighter fit than your average pair.A must buy for the hard working studio engineer.

This amp is really incredible, you can go for practically any sound you are looking for, from a '60s type Beatles tweed to Deep purple type classic Marshall distortion for songs like highway star,Burn etc. The insane amp model is perfect for metal songs, and is great for heavy rhythm parts. This amp has 4 channels and 3 different effects running at the same time.On board effect includes : chorus/phaser/tremolo/delay/tape echo/sweep echo/reverb.Each setting is tied in with the channel setting, and you can save it in any bank you like and even overwrite the presets. It comes with a headphones style out jack, which is good, the sound from the jack sounds almost the same as the speaker, another option is to plug it straight into your computer's line in socket and record it in Cubase/Logic etc. However the manual of the amp doesn't explain too much so its better to look up on the internet for more info. It's a great practice amp,and you can also plug in your Ipod or Mp3 player and Jam with backing tracks. It's great for gigs however micing could prove to be a tough job.

I use a Kramer guitar with this amp,in a H-S-H configuration, it simply sounds the way I want it to sound. This amp gives users the option to make their guitar sound like anything they want. Users can get rid of their FX pedals cos this amp offers everything. Distortion can be set up from mild Eagles type to heavy Pantera type and even with high gain it sounds clean.Check out the sound clips on the line 6 website and compare it with yours,THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.It also sounds like a tube amp. This amp would suit basically all genres of music, it comes with 12 amp models that cover almost all genres, and the presets help you easily find the sound you are looking for.It doesn't come with a preset list but its simple to get that simply Google.
